Camporee.

Camporee. The theme was
Spartan, but the enthusiasm was not! There was an even bigger
increase in the number of Scouts and Troops (16 total) than there was
last year.

MacKenzie for co-ordinating Scouting for Food.
This year’s total collected was again over 10,000 pounds! Unit totals
are on the District website. Congratulations to Pack 454 for being the
only member of the ONE TON Club.

District Pinewood Derby.

Please use the online advancement
program to do a unit audit and make sure all your active Scouts are
registered.
·
The annual Program Planning Conference
is Thursday May 8th. This is an opportunity for a
representative of every unit to attend to receive information on
District and Council activities for the period August 2008 to June 2009.
This information will support your unit planning meeting which should
take place in late May or early June.
For Committee Members:
·
All units now have both a
unit account and a
unit registration account at
the Council Service Center. Money in the registration account can only
be spent on registration. Money in the unit account cannot be spent on
registration. Only registered unit leaders can authorize transfers from
the registration account to the other. A unit registration account
deposit will have an “R” on the receipt after the unit number.
For Boy Scout Leaders:

NLE/SM-ASM/IOLS
is planned for April 25th -27th at Camp Shands.

Do you have your 2008 summer camp
destination picked out? If so, please give the location and the date to
District Camping Chair, Milledge Murphey (h) 373-9234,
mmurphey@hhp.ufl.edu or to Gary.

There are new activities including
Climbing Instructor Training, Brownsea, Philmont 2009 and
Extreme Fest at Camp Echockotee listed on the council web
site.

Webelos Leader Skills will be offered as a
part of IOLS. See the information regarding that course above.

Webelos contacted troops to schedule visits? Do you know which

The Gainesville
Cub Day Camp will be June 9-13 at T.B. McPherson Center 1717 SW
15th St. Please start promoting this vital event to your
Cubs. Applications may be downloaded from
