Roundtable Notes       October 2008

 

Much Thanks to:                           

  • Bruce Cherry, School Night Chairman, and all the School Night Coordinators. To date we have had 180 new Cub Scouts sign up. Each of these Cubs now has the possibility of someday soaring to Eagle! A chance they wouldn’t have if they hadn’t been asked!

                                                       

  • Todd & Joyce Yurchisin, Janice Gordon, Susan Johanson, Gary Keeler, Cheryl Miller, Gene May Wayne McCormack, Ruben Rothschild, Tom Yarborough and Pat Whitmer for a great weekend of Cub Leader Training! Two locations simultaneously. Over 60 leaders trained! Great start for the new leaders!

  • Kori Rathfon (DL) for restarting the new Pack (499) at Newberry UMC.
  • Patience Goodwin (CM), for restarting the new Pack (700) at Southwest UMC.intz and all the staff and counselorrs anning Confernce with a feast!

  • There will be an NRA Instructor Course starting October 24, 2008. Contact Dick Gentry at gentrye@gmail.com for more information.

 

For Committee Members:

· Recharter packages will be available after October 15th.  Please use the online advancement program to do a unit audit to make sure all your active Scouts are registered and begin the process. You will be able to make changes online after Nov 1.

 

· Are your leaders trained? If not, please encourage them to attend training. Reminder – All Cubmasters, Scoutmaster and Crew advisors must be trained for the unit to be able to recharter.

 

· Now is not too early to be thinking about the District Dinner planned for January 22nd.  This is a chance to recognize your unit leaders. District award forms will be on the web soon.

 

· Please sign up for a Family Investment in Character presentation. Packs are asked to do so at Blue & Gold. Troops are asked to have it at Courts of Honor between December & March.

 

For Scoutmasters:

· Would you like to help out at Buc Tuocs @ Camp Shands Jan 30 – Feb 1, 2009? Please contact Maria Eunice at (w) 955-7537.

 

For Cub Leaders:

· Have you had a new parents meeting yet? Have you called all your new Cub Scout parents? Do they know what to do next?

 

· Possum Creek Cub Campout is Oct 3-4.  Tonight is the last night to make a commitment to  Joyce Yurchisin, joyce_yurchisin@doh.state.fl.us, on the number of attendees.
